INSURANCE (SSLI)

     The Association is in the process of reacquainting all Wyoming Guard members of the State Sponsored Life Insurance Program (SSLI) underwritten by New York Life Insurance Company. Some may already be acquainted with the program as it has been with the WY NGA since 1988. As of 09 OCT 2003, MG Ed Wright designated SSLI as an officially sponsored program of the State Military Department (IAW DoD 5500.7-R (JER) para 3-209 Change 3). SSLI has three basic offerings and based upon age and underwriting requirements one of the three should fit your needs. Some of the highlights are:

  Designed for Guard members at affordable group rates

  Coverage from $5,000 to $250,000

  NO EXCLUSIONS for any AFSC or MOS and NO AVIATION EXCLUSION

  NO WAR Exclusion

  Covered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on or off duty

  Protection and coverage can continue even after leaving the Guard

  Most Claims Paid Within 48 Hours After Proof Of Loss Is Received

  Made available to you by Federal Law (1974) through payroll deduction

  Accelerated death benefit

  Retirees under the age of 65 are now eligible to sign up for the LEAN 15 Program
